Overview
Lantronix, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of version 6.3 software for the Lantronix Local Manager and for the Lantronix Control Center.
The following software features, improvements and fixes have been made in both the Local Manager and the Control Center software.
This document covers LMS version 6.3 and all subsequent patch sub-releases. Changes made in patch releases are marked with the version number.
Requirements
- LMS 6.3 is supported on Lantronix LM83X, LM80, 5000, 500, and Virtual Local Managers. Previous hardware platforms are not supported.
- LMS 6.3 supports upgrades from versions 6.1.x and 6.2.x.
Lantronix Local Manager
- Improvement: Added configurable timeout for RADIUS to improve 2FA performance
- Security: Removed unused log4j classes with known CVEs
- Improvement: Local Manager operating system upgraded to Long Term Support release
- Improvement: 500/5000/VirtualLM kernel upgraded to current release
- Improvement: Juniper push os automation
- Improvement: DHCP performance on Dedicated Ethernet ports
- 6.3.1 - added support for 32-port expansion card
- 6.3.2 - improvements for pushOS on newer versions of Cisco IOS (v16+)
- 6.3.2 - fixed LM83X status LED with multiple serial cards installed
- 6.3.2 - added ~o terminal command to toggle DTR and RTS
Lantronix Control Center
- Improvement: Added configurable timeout for RADIUS to improve 2FA performance
- Security: Removed unused log4j classes with known CVEs
- Security: End of life Apache Struts 1 removed
- Security: Apache Struts 2 elements upgraded to latest release
- Security: Tomcat upgraded to 8.5
- Improvement: Azure – memory usage optimizations to improve stability
- Improvement: Azure – independent routing tables added to provide automatic support for Pulse
- Improvement: ACME (Let’s Encrypt) https certificates can be automatically renewed
- Improvement: Added support for unique Heartbeat certificates regardless of FIPS mode
- Improvement: Physical servers with drive or fan faults will now generate an alert message on the Administration page of the Control Center
- Improvement: The Lantronix Terminal application has been updated with minor bug fixes and updated embedded Java version (note: new version must be downloaded and installed after upgrade)
- Security: CVE-2021-4034 PwnKit vulnerability patched
