Uplogix Joins Cisco Technology Developer Program

Building on a history of supporting Cisco products, the Uplogix automated remote management platform is now officially designated a Cisco Compatible technology

Austin, Texas (June 29, 2009) -; Uplogix, the leading provider of automated remote management (ARM) solutions, today announced its participation in the Cisco Technology Developer Program.

Uplogix brings deep experience with Cisco products, with fourth generation technology being deployed by customers around the world. The Uplogix Remote Management Operating System (RMOS) is modeled on the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) recommended best practices for maintenance and recovery of Cisco devices, bringing  safe management and control to any connected device in the network. By augmenting the capabilities of CiscoWorks and other Cisco management software partners, Uplogix solutions are making Cisco-centric IT environments stronger.

“As a partner to Cisco and Uplogix, Worldwide Technology, Inc. (WWT) understands the importance this relationship will bring to Cisco customers,” said Matt Horner, vice president of professional services with WWT.  “More than ever, our customers are looking to reduce network costs while also improving network service quality. Cisco and Uplogix are proving that both can be done, and are making the adoption of advanced communications more attractive for our customers than competing solutions.”

Cisco customers with remote infrastructure have been implementing Uplogix to manage mission-critical locations where the luxury of 24×7 staff is impractical or impossible. For deployments ranging from traditional network locations like branch offices and data centers to isolated pipeline monitoring stations and satellite terminals on ships at sea, ARM keeps the edge of the network under control.

The ARM platform consists of appliances deployed remotely to monitor and automate routine administration of network devices. In the event of a network outage, the Uplogix appliance can either take recovery steps autonomously, or connect to the NOC over an out-of-band link. This ensures two-way transfer of information and commands to reduce the risk of change and the time to recover when devices fail.

“If your enterprise has remote networks, you know the value of having Cisco gear in those locations. Like Cisco, at Uplogix we’re committed to minimizing the cost, risk and complexities of your mission critical remote infrastructure.” said Tom Goldman, Uplogix CEO. “Whether it’s routing and switching equipment or other devices like WAN acceleration, intrusion prevention, SCADA or VSAT… deploying Uplogix is like having your best IT admin there all the time.”

The Cisco Technology Developer Program (http://www.cisco.com/go/ctdp) unites Cisco with third-party developers of hardware and software to deliver tested interoperable solutions to joint customers. Members of the program share Cisco’s strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction and are required to undergo interoperability testing* based on criteria set forth by Cisco. With Cisco Technology Developer Program member offerings such as Automated Remote Management from Uplogix, customers can more quickly deploy a broad range of Cisco-compatible business applications to enhance the capabilities, performance, and management of their Cisco network.

* The interoperability testing is designed to simulate typical customer configurations, and does not replace the need for on-site testing in conjunction with actual implementation.

Uplogix is a Silver Sponsor of Cisco Live 2009 in San Francisco. The company will be exhibiting in the World of Solutions Expo from June 29 – July 2 on the show floor, Booth #1125.
