Uplogix Announces European Expansion to Bring Next-Generation Out-of-Band Management to EMEA Marketplace

Company Opens London Office, Signs First Regional Partners and Appoints Director to Accelerate Sales in EMEA

Austin, Texas – March 26th, 2007 – Uplogix, the only provider of next-generation out-of-band management solutions, today announced the opening of its U.K. office, which will serve local markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  Jump-starting its entry into the European marketplace, Uplogix is also announcing partnerships with leading channel partners including Instalec, ECL-ips, KVM Partnership Group and Ventura.  These partners will resell the award-winning Uplogix Envoy Network Resource Manager (NRM) and Envoy Management Station (EMS).  To drive the day-to-day sales and channel operations, Uplogix has appointed Andy Harris as sales director for EMEA.

Uplogix’ European expansion is a critical element of the company’s business strategy to increase global revenue by broadening its footprint in new geographies. Uplogix’ out-of-band management solutions offer customers a unique alternative for securely and efficiently managing remote sites and highly distributed infrastructures, thereby overcoming the limitations of traditional out-of-band solutions.  In addition to providing remote access to devices, the Uplogix solution also delivers intelligent management features that automate recovery actions, facilitate administrative tasks, and enforce security policies.

“The formal expansion of our business into Europe is an important step forward for Uplogix,” said Paul Strelzick, vice president of sales for Uplogix.  “European demand for an out-of-band management solution like ours is growing rapidly as customers see the security and management benefits that our solutions offer, and the time is right to respond to that demand with a local presence.”

Partnering for success
As members of the Uplogix Partner Program, Instalec, ECL-ips, KVM Partnership Group, and Ventura can now offer their customers a next-generation out-of-band management solution that enables active, secure management of distributed infrastructures.  Customers benefit from significant reduction in network support and maintenance costs, while improving security and preventing disruptive outages.

“Given Uplogix’ impressive track record in the oil and gas industry, we knew their Envoy solutions would be an excellent addition to our portfolio of products,” said Graeme Taylor, business development director for Instalec (http://www.instalec.co.uk), one of Scotland’s leading technology solution providers.  “The Envoy product line can significantly reduce support and maintenance costs for companies with remote locations, like offshore platforms and oil rigs.  The ability of the Uplogix solutions to eliminate costly onsite visits and to prevent outages of critical equipment will be a powerful value proposition for our customer base.”

According to Aaron Kernaghan, director for ECL-ips (http://www.educonnect.co.uk), a complete services-oriented reseller focused on the installation, monitoring and support of IT, physical security and network infrastructures, “Our customers’ infrastructures are becoming more globally dispersed everyday, presenting IT administrators with unique management challenges.  We are thrilled to offer our customers a technology solution with capabilities that go beyond previously available tools.  With the Uplogix solution, customers can overcome the challenges of managing highly distributed IT environments and streamline day-to-day administration tasks, while gaining critical security improvements to ensure compliance with regulations and to eliminate unnecessary risks in their networking environments.”

Driving European expansion for out-of-band management solution
Leading Uplogix EMEA sales and business development operations, Harris brings more than 15 years of experience in European enterprise IT sales and channel growth to Uplogix.  Prior to Uplogix, Harris was the EMEA sales director for NetBotz where he established their EMEA presence and delivered remarkable growth quarter after quarter, leading up to the company’s acquisition by APC.  Before NetBotz, Harris was regional sales director for Bluesocket where he was responsible for establishing their reseller program in the UK and Western Europe.  Harris has also held key sales positions at NetScout and Bay Networks.

“The opportunity for Uplogix in EMEA is tremendous and I’m excited to be working with such a committed and technology-savvy team,” said Harris.  “We are seeing increased demand in the EMEA marketplace for more efficient and cost-effective alternatives to overcome network management complexities.  By leveraging the company’s groundbreaking technology and key partnerships, Uplogix is well poised to take a leadership position in this growing market.”
