This document describes connecting a Lantronix Local Manager to a Windows 10 computer using the USB console port.

The Local Manager User Guide describes the configuration, management, and advanced features of the Lantronix Local Manager. The information presented applies to all models of the Local Manager except where otherwise noted.

The Lantronix Control Center (UCC) enables out-of-band management by providing a centralized point of control for all Lantronix Local Managers and through this, of managed devices deployed throughout your distributed IT environment. With its web-based graphical user interface (GUI), the Control Center puts IT administrators in control of real-time data to easily manage, configure, and control all network devices and servers connected to Lantronix Local Managers.

Local Manager device drivers have functionality that enables manual and automatic transfer of configuration and OS files between the Local Manager and the managed device using Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) or Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP).

Lantronix is pleased to announce the release of LMS version 6.5 for 500/5000/LM80/LM83X/Virtual Local Managers and Control Center.

Local Managers can offload AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) to third-party TACACS and RADIUS servers. This document describes deploying a new Local Manager and configuring it to use Cisco ISE via TACACS. The Control Center and Authorization are not covered in this document. The Cisco ISE instance in this document is freshly installed.

You can use the search bar on the Lantronix Control Center to quickly search your inventory groups, Local Managers, and attached devices.

Lantronix uses certificates to create a secure connection between the Local Manager and the Control Center. Default certificates are provided, but they can be replaced if desired.
