Next generation managed services to help customers reduce cost and complexity of asset and configuration management across distributed infrastructure

London, UK – August 11, 2008 -; Uplogix, the leading provider of next-generation secure remote management (SRM) solutions, today announced a new partnership with Calyx, the leading independent end-to-end provider of ICT in Ireland and the UK. The agreement will allow Calyx to utilize technology from Uplogix to deliver an enhanced service for distributed IT asset management, remote control and IT operations and security policy enforcement, to help deliver “lights out” data center policy.

“Managed Service Providers (MSPs) are a well-suited customer segment for Uplogix, and our new agreement with Calyx highlights the substantial benefits SRM can deliver to both clients and the operational activities of MSPs,” said Mark Piening, VP of Marketing for Uplogix. “Calyx has been at the forefront of innovation in this area, and working closely with them will ensure that Uplogix is at the heart of more trusted managed service offerings helping clients across the globe.”

“This partnership will provide us with a valuable foundation for the delivery of a wide range of managed services. With more and more businesses looking to outsource the management of their IT infrastructures, Uplogix will allow us to offer an enhanced service to our customers with a next-generation secure remote management solution,” said Andy Mills, UK MD, Calyx.

Uplogix SRM appliances provide specific unique benefits to Managed Service Providers who have traditionally had to rely on multiple network management and server monitoring tools and the expense and burden of sending people to address every remote action or incident. Instead, Uplogix offers a single intelligent appliance for both network centric and out-of-bound monitoring, configuration management and remote access for network elements and application servers across Windows, Linux and Unix.

With extensive integration to power management and environmental monitoring technologies, the Uplogix 3200 and Uplogix 430 appliances can perform a number of tasks such as system restarts to reduce expensive site visits.

“By working closely with Uplogix from the start of this project, we can deliver a service that offers tangible benefits to our clients and help our engineers become familiar with the scope and capabilities of the Uplogix platform,” said Mills.

Uplogix has pioneered the industry’s first SRM appliance that integrates critical Access, Control and Enforcement (ACE) remote management functions to alleviate the risk, complexity and costs inherent in managing distributed IT infrastructures such as branch offices and remote data centres. The architecture integrates an always-available, secure and intelligent direct connection to the remote devices it manages that significantly reduces labor costs and allows IT professionals to focus on more critical responsibilities.
